1961: Washington School of Medical Technology
Don Tyson received his degree in medical technology.
Don Tyson started his career in the labs of the American Red Cross, where he was introduced to Ion-Exchange Chromatography, an advancement in the accurate measurement of amino acid levels in blood plasma and urine. He recognized that patterns in the plasma and urine amino acid profiles he measured corresponded to the symptoms and pathologies present in many patients. Mr. Tyson realized that amino acid technology was a key to health and the foundation of nutrition.
Don Tyson then went on to work at the laboratories of the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD, in the division of research services.
1964: Redken, Director of Research Technology
Don Tyson spent 15 years at Redken’s Remedco Medical Labs division studying and developing plasma and urine amino acid data and interpreting the data utilizing ion-exchange chromatography. He also researched mineral levels in human hair pertaining to health and disease.
1979: Tyson and Associates, Founder
Don Tyson went on to found Tyson and Associates. He was the first to offer oral amino acid application to America. These supplements were supplied to doctors, pharmacies, and hospitals both nationally and internationally. He also supplied amino acids to research institutions for clinical studies
1980:Full-Spectrum Amino Acid Formulation
Because of the research and positive feedback from Tyson clients, Don Tyson went on to introduce the first full-spectrum, oral amino acid formulation to medical and healthcare professionals for stress management, blood sugar, neurotransmitter deficit, brain function, muscle development, and athletic performance.
1981: Carnitine Introduction to the US
Introduced carnitine to the US market for the purpose of lowering triglycerides and for nutritional support of heart pathologies.
1984: ATP, PLP, Riboflavin 5’Phosphate, Thiamine Introduction
Introduced the first active enteric preparations of ATP, PLP, Riboflavin 5’Phosphate, and Thiamine Pyrophosphate to the U.S.
1985: Aatron Laboratories, Founder
Founded Aatron Laboratories to provide doctors with amino acid testing and interpretation. Provided medical and health professionals with a unique test that analyzed the amino acid content within a patient’s blood and urine. Published the first complete amino acid interpretation guide for physicians use and assisted physicians in the use of advanced amino acid products for the treatment of patients.
1986: L-Tyrosine and PLP
Introduced the enteric preparation of L-Tyrosine and PLP to the fields of psychiatry, along with the use of the competitive Amino Acid Ration (CAA) test to general psychiatry.
1999: Montiff, Inc., Founder
Don Tyson sold Tyson & Associates and Aatron Laboratories in 1992. He then founded Montiff, Inc. in 1999 to introduce revolutionary advances in nutraceuticals to the medical profession. He consulted with doctors, including physicians from Stanford Medical School, to research the continued use of nutraceuticals for cardio-vascular health. This research led to the formulation of the Montiff product line. Montiff’s products are listed in the PDR, prescription volume, and have been enthusiastically received by doctors and patients alike.
Mr. Tyson has consulted with over 2000 doctors and has given over 300 lectures to health practitioners at the following locations: American Psychiatric Hypnosis Association of Southern California , Canadian Department of Drug Rehabilitation Edmonton, Canada, Cancer Society for Alternative Choices Los Angeles and Pasadena, California, Chiropractic College Dallas, TX, Contreras Hospital Tijuana, Mexico, Los Angeles Chiropractic College, Miami School of Medicine: Department of Dermatology, National College of Naturopathic Medicine Portland, OR, UC Irvine School of Medicine, and the UCLA School of Medicine.
Mr. Tyson spoke at the Fourth Nutritional Symposium in San Francisco in 2004 and has been acknowledged in published health books as an expert in the field of amino acids and nutrition. He has been involved in the study of the clinical use of amino acids for over 40 years, and is a leading expert in the field of amino acid therapy and use of the nutraceuticals in the medical health profession.
